It
is not every day that you catch a nicely fitted 4 door Infiniti out in the
streets, especially a G35 like this one. This is perhaps one of my favorite
G35's in Southern California; Owned by one of the local DJ’s in the area,
Deejay GOZ also known as George Ortiz from the San Fernando Valley area. I knew
we had to schedule an interview and a photo-shoot with the man himself and see
what the scoop on his build is!
I
have been following his build and I wanted to know what is next and how has the
scene been treating him like. DJ GOZ is perhaps one of the most humble,
outgoing, and realest people I know from the scene; besides being a well-known
& respected DJ in the car scene. We met up in Downtown L.A. at 6th
Street Bridge for the photo-shoot and interview to ask him a couple questions.

Me: So DJ GOZ, thank you for coming and giving us
the opportunity to interview you and take some shots of your G35, I want to
ask: Why a G35? How did you decide on which vehicle you were going to get?
GOZ: I’ve always wanted a
“G”; I like the style and quality of the car. I had a hard time deciding from a
coupe or sedan and so I’ve always loved a 4dr car plus… there aren’t many
sedans in the scene showing off. So I
went with the G35 Sedan and I love it!
Me: How did you decide the direction to go with
your build when you began? Did you know it was going to get to the point that
it’s at today?
GOZ: Well I’m all about
simple and clean look… so I’m glad everything has worked out with what I have
so far.
Me: Does your car have a special name that you
gave it?
GOZ: LOL! No,
not yet I haven’t thought of one yet. I’ve only had the G for a few months I’m
sure something will come along.
Me: What first interested you into the car
scene? Did anything or anybody inspire you?
GOZ: As a teen
I was introduced to the underground street races in Carson and then everything
else fell into place car mods, street meets, car shows, etc.
Me: How long have you had your G35 for?
GOZ: I’ve only
had my G since July 2013, LOL!
Me: Are you part of any car club/ team/
company?
GOZ: I am what
you call a “Solo rider” – haha
Me: What do you do
besides being a car enthusiast?
GOZ: When I’m
not entering at shows I’m usually DJ’ing a car show or a club, but when I’m
free I’m with my family I love to spend as much time with them as I can if I
have a weekend off.
Me: Any cool car stories you want to share with us?
GOZ: Nah,
there’s too many to tell LOL! Word of advice though, if your tires are slick
and/or you’re starting to see wires don’t be cheap! Change tires ASAP, it will
cost less then something happening, I learned from experience as a teen LOL.
Me: Ok, so we saw
you over at SEMA, how was the whole experience? What did you most like and most
disliked about SEMA?
GOZ: SEMA was
a great experience there were so many companies with upcoming products I can’t
wait to see out in the streets and the only thing I didn’t like was that there
wasn’t enough time to see everything.
Me: How did you first here about XIX Wheels and what
got you interested in rocking them on your ride?
GOZ: I’ve seen
XIX on a few sites and forms and really liked the style of wheels they have
available. My buddy Jeff of 742 Marketing got me in touch with XIX wheels for a
feature spot at SEMA and I took the opportunity to connect with them as I had
my eyes on those X25 (20x10 all around) for a while… And let me tell you those
wheels are amazing on my G, I get compliments everywhere; always get asked the
specs of the wheels! They like the concave look in the wheel and the fitment.
Me: Your car is beautiful, a true piece of work,
what is next for 2014, any big plans?
GOZ: Thank you
I really appreciate the compliments! 2014 looks to be more engine details for
the G…. that’s all I gotta say.
I would like to send a shout out to these
people thank you for all your help!
